Toy fruit and vegetable set - 18 plastic pieces

Description

This set consists of eighteen individual fruit and vegetable pieces in moulded plastic, each in the colour of the real thing: green peppers, corn cobs, grape bunches, lemons, a banana, a cucumber, a carrot, an aubergine and a few more pieces of fruit. The pieces come loose, without a basket or stall.

In the play kitchen it ends up in the pan, on the plate or in the shopping basket. Children sort by colour, count what's on the counter and divide up the roles: who cooks, who's the customer and who's behind the till. It's a toy that needs no explanation and slots straight into role play that's already underway.

The pieces have no moving parts, no batteries and no sound. They fit in with an existing play kitchen, a toy shop or a market stall, and top up a stock that's usually thinned out after a few years of play.

An unassuming but useful gift: children with a play kitchen rarely have enough food in the house, and eighteen pieces fill a basket in one go.
