Description

A modelling set that revolves entirely around food. A turning work station with a press and a holder for the tools stands in the middle; around it lie moulds for doughnuts, hamburgers, ice creams in a cone, cupcakes, waffles, fries and strawberries.

The child rolls the clay flat, presses shapes out of it, pushes strands through the press and then sets out a plate or a box of doughnuts. It is craft and role play at once: first you make it, then you play shop or restaurant. Afterwards it all goes back into a ball and it can start over.

The set contains coloured modelling clay, the shapes and moulds, a press with a plunger, plastic knives and cutting strips with recesses, and plates and boxes to arrange the work on. The box carries the 3+ age symbol and, in small print at the bottom, 'Fun to play with, but not to eat.' The clay is not a sweet, however much it looks like one.

A welcome gift for a rainy Wednesday afternoon and for children who like working with their hands. Put a washable cloth underneath and the clearing up is taken care of too.
