Wooden knob puzzle with vehicles - 9 pieces on a wooden board

Description

Nine vehicles, nine cut-outs in a wooden board. This is the classic knob puzzle: every piece has a red knob a child takes hold of to lift it out, and there is exactly one place where it fits back in.

The motifs are cheerfully drawn and instantly nameable: a passenger plane, a bus, a tipper truck with its bed raised, a helicopter, a ship, a green scooter, a blue steam locomotive and two cars. Children say them out loud while they work, which makes this as much a picture board as a puzzle.

The knob is what makes the difference for small hands: a piece comes out without having to pick at the edge, and putting it back works even when fine motor skills are not that far along. The board is wood and lies flat on a table or on the floor, so the pieces do not roll off in all directions.

A simple present for anyone just starting out with puzzles, and a puzzle you can leave lying out so it can be picked up again in between.
