Playgo My First Washing Machine - toy washing machine

Description

"My First Washing Machine" from Playgo is a washing machine in toy form, in grey with mint green. Top left there is a drawer you pull out for the imaginary washing powder; next to it a black panel with an on/off button, four buttons with wash-programme pictograms and a large turquoise dial.

The round door at the front swings open on hinges and gives access to the drum, which turns. A child puts in doll's clothes or a few scraps of fabric, adds "detergent" to the drawer, picks a programme at the press of a button and sets the machine going.

Nothing is actually washed: this is pretend play around the household, in which a child copies what they see happening at home — sorting, loading, waiting until the wash is done and taking everything out again.

The box carries Playgo item number 3624 and the 3+ marking. It fits well in a play corner or a doll's room, and makes a manageable present for a child who likes to help when the washing is being done.
