Small gifts under € 10: for the shoe, the party bag and no reason at all

There is a category of buying where the amount is fixed before the present is. The shoe at Saint Nicholas. A party bag at school. Something to take along when you have been asked to dinner. You are not looking for the best present — you are looking for the right present under a limit that is already set.

Why the age counts double here

Under ten euros is where the range is furthest apart. The same price band holds teething rings and bags of marbles, card games and sets of markers. That is one list with almost nothing in common, and without an age filter you scroll past most of it for nothing.

So always add the age. The price band on its own is a warehouse; the two together are a shelf.

What you will not find in it

Large sets, board games and construction boxes start higher. That is not a shortcoming of this band, it is its definition: if you want a main present, the wider bands serve you better, and they are written with that in mind.

Count the shipping
