Marbles the way marbles should be: glass, with coloured vanes running through a clear centre, packed in a tub with a lid. In the product photo they lie loose beside the tub, and you can see straight away that they are not all the same size: there is a bigger one among the ordinary marbles.

Playing marbles asks for nothing else. A dip in the sand, a gap between two paving stones or the gutter along the path will do, and children usually make up the rules themselves. Swapping matters at least as much as playing: the best marble never stays with the same owner for long.
