LEGO Technic 42179 - Planet Earth and Moon in Orbit

Description

LEGO Technic Planet Earth and Moon in Orbit (42179) is a 526-piece building set from the Technic Space line. The box contains everything needed to build a mechanical model of Earth rotating on its own axis, with the Moon circling around it and printed details marking the months and moon phases.

Turning the crank on the side sets the whole mechanism going: the globe spins, the Moon circles around it, and the rings marking the months move along with it, so you can follow how the orbit around the Sun works.

The finished model is about 24 cm tall, 33 cm long and 18 cm wide. It comes with no minifigures, but does include one instruction booklet. The box states an age recommendation of 10 years and up.

A great gift for kids who love building and are curious how the Earth and Moon move around the Sun, and for LEGO Technic collectors who would rather set the model turning than leave it on a shelf.
