Muy Pop SpeakerBox watermelon - induction speaker for your phone

Description

Didak Play's SpeakerBox is cut out as a slice of watermelon, with a green rind, pink flesh and black pips. At the front is a recess your smartphone stands upright in, and top right on the casing sits a real volume knob.

There is nothing to set up. Put music on your phone, place the handset in the opening and the box amplifies the sound by magnetic induction. The packaging puts it in three languages: play your music, drop it into the speaker, and it is magic. No Bluetooth and no cable comes between phone and speaker.

That amplification needs 3 AA batteries, which are not included; the box can also be powered from a USB cable. It works with most phones that have a speaker on the outside. Where that speaker sits differs from handset to handset, so a bit of shuffling until the sound comes through best is part of it.

A cheerful present for someone who likes putting music on in their own room, and at the same time a striking object on a desk or a bedside table.
