Classic World Bear Chair - red wooden child's chair, bear head

Description

The backrest of this chair is cut out in the shape of a bear's head: a round head with two ears, with the eyes, the nose and the smile drawn on in red. The seat is lacquered red; the four round legs and the back post are left as bare wood.

It is a real child's chair and not a decorative piece. It measures about 28 x 28 x 54 cm, the bear counted in the height, so low enough to climb in and out of unaided and light enough for a child to shift to the play corner, the drawing table or in front of the window.

A chair turns a corner into a place of one's own straight away: that is where the reading happens, and that is where the cuddly toy sits when nobody else does. Put two of them side by side at a low table and there is room to play in pairs.

A chair like this works well as a christening present or as a first piece of furniture of one's own, and it is still there when the nursery years are over.
