Didak Pool single water slide - 488 x 70 cm slide mat

Description

A water slide for the garden, one lane wide. Roll the 488 x 70 cm mat out across a flat stretch of grass, hook up the garden hose, and the sprinklers along the lane put the whole length under water. At the end sits an inflatable bump that catches the landing.

What children do with it needs no explaining: take a run-up and shoot down it on their stomach, and keep at it all afternoon. Because the mat stays wet it goes fast on its own; the harder the run-up, the further they get. With several children, a queue forms at the start without anyone organising it.

Count on a flat strip of lawn about five metres long so the lane can lie flat over its whole length - on uneven ground the water runs off and the mat slides less well. After use, let it drain and dry, and then it rolls up small.

For hot days when the swimming pool is too far away and the garden sprinkler has worn thin: this is the kind of toy that fills an afternoon, with nothing to put together first.
