Small World Tea Party - 17-piece porcelain tea set to paint

Description

Tea Party from Small World Creative is a craft set built around real porcelain. The box holds a 17-piece miniature tea set for four: a teapot with lid, a sugar bowl, a creamer, cups, saucers and plates, all white and unpainted.

With them come pots of paint and a brush. Your child works out the pattern - dots, flowers, ladybirds, a sun, a spiral - and paints the pieces one by one. The box states that the paint dries in the air and is permanent; the oven stays shut.

It is real porcelain, so it is solid but breakable: a set for the table, not for the sandpit. The box says 'Over 8 years'. Count on an afternoon of crafting with newspaper underneath, because seventeen pieces are not painted in a quarter of an hour.

A gift for a child who likes making things and then likes serving them. The result stays around: a tea set your child decorated and can go on playing with afterwards.
