Tonka Mighty Metal Fleet garbage truck - metal toy truck

Description

The Tonka Mighty Metal Fleet garbage truck is a blue toy garbage truck with a grey chassis, a high hopper body, a chrome exhaust and the recycling symbol on the door. It belongs to the Mighty Metal Fleet, the range of metal Tonka vehicles sized to stand alongside each other.

Children drive it in circles down the hallway, load up imaginary rubbish and collect the bins at every chair leg. There is no electronics inside: no sounds, no buttons, just a truck that rolls and does whatever you decide. The tyres are soft and grip well, so it runs as happily indoors on the floor as outside on the terrace.

Basic Fun builds this range with die-cast parts - the box carries the 'Made with Metal, Built Tonka Tough' label. The manufacturer gives the length as 8 inch, about 20 cm; the packaging itself prints no size. The box says from 3 years.

A classic birthday present for the child who stands at the window every week when the garbage truck comes past, and a vehicle that fits in with the other trucks in the Mighty Metal Fleet.
